When you go to a meeting in a physical location you typically do the following;

  1. You take what you need.
  2. You go to the room.
  3. You start the meeting.

When you go to a meeting virtually you typically do the following;

  1. Open the Invite
  2. Connect to the meeting (generally involves more than two clicks to confirm that you “really” want to go to the meeting.
  3. Show up in the meeting and fuss around with drivers as you try to connect.
  4. Wait for others to do the same.
  5. You start the meeting.

There are many more minor steps in between but you get the idea, the problem with remote meetings is that the experience is still a mess when compared to walking in a room and saying “hi”.
