The Options.

What they are, what’s good about them, what’s bad about them – maybe what the cost is?

But more importantly, it’s your recommendation – what you think and why.

Anyone can come up with options, but a recommendation, a direction, a path – that’s the real reason you’re doing this – because people want to see what you’ll do when given the reigns to lead and move forward with solving a problem.

The next question is whether you lead with the recommendation or hold onto it till the end.

You lead with it.

Ending with it means you’re not sure and your recommendation is more of an afterthought “I guess we could do this”.

Leading with it says “we need to do this, here is the plan, if you’re interested in seeing the work I did to figure this out, keep on reading”.

People might not agree with your direction, they might want to go down a different path, but they will appreciate your leadership and decisiveness, which is what they were looking for.
