Do you need to be online?
Seriously, do you need to be on Teams all day long?
Every now and again when I have a lot of work to do and no need to meet anyone, I go into the Cave.
The Cave is where email and messaging is shut off, you go there, you do work and you come out with work done.
To go into the cave the following must be true;
- You answer no emails, no messages, no meetings – that is the importance of the cave.
- You go into the problem with a cave, you come out with a solution – maybe not the one you planned, but something.
- You can’t do it all the time.
- You go there on your own.
The Cave is where work gets done. It can be joyous and remind you of the value of your work as you accomplish things.
It can, and will, show you how good you are, when you’re not surrounded by distractions.
