I am writing this on a Saturday.

On a day when I should not be concerned with doing anything productive and yet I have that nagging voice in the back of my head telling me that I should be “getting up and doing something… anything”.

You have this time, use it.

You have this opportunity when no one is around, do something it.

This is the time when no one is thinking about work or what’s next so why are you?

Why can’t that part of my brain shut off and simply be happy, truly happy, with counting the dimples in the ceiling or staring outside for an hour and not worry about what is not getting done.

And yet, even these thoughts of staring outside or staring at dimples in the ceiling brings random thoughts of how many dimples there are in the ceiling and how did they get there and do they all line up.

And I think very simply, perhaps this is the balance of productive laziness, where I’m not doing anything that contributes to any financial endeavour, but amuses me on this Saturday.

And that’s okay.
